How should I deal with bad credit card debt that I became overwhelmed with?
I have about $53K in credit card debt that I became overwhelmed with and was unable to pay minimum payments. I stopped paying and caught up with all my other obligations and bills. I am now in a budgeted position to pay something on a monthly basis and I've been working with the collectors but most of them are asking a lump some down payment to work out a payment option. Also they are asking me to pay something over the phone. I've heard not to pay anything unless they put a contract together in writing. How should I figure out which to pay first or should I try to pay a certain amount for each one...they range from $5K to $25

oh the reason its bad is because its kinda my fault I needed a card so i signed up for and didnt read everything and they have so many fees its crazy, basically the credit limit they give adds up to all the fees you have to pay.

I live in the Us, in Mass..my credt score is around 500, not so good and im only 23, but I need a credit card with at the very elast $1000 credit limit. Is it possible to find one where I dont have to pay the balance first like a secured limit? I want unsecured so I can establish credit...is there any place someone might know of that gives a card to bad credit customers even with a higher credit limit??? Thanks

Bad credit card debt, sold to another collection agency. How long until goes away?
I was one of those dumb 18 year olds who accepted every credit card offer that came in the mail. I have all paid off now accept one. It went to collections in 2002 and was recently sold to another collection agency. I understand that after 7 years your debt is sopposed to go off your credit report. Now that this debt was sold does the 7 years start over or will my 7 years be over next year?

ok I owed around 3000. ya bad I know. Good and Bad Credit Card Companies?
I am new at being on a credit card. I was told that I have good credit thankfully . But my credit card company, Capital One, I hear is a bad company, that they rip teenagers off. I have noticed some things on my statements that I don't like. What are some better credit card companies? And is Capital One really all that bad? I mean, I've heard that they are getting sued. THE ONLY CREDIT I HAVE EVER HAD IS BAD CREDIT CARDS .I HAD THE CREDIT CARDS WHEN I WAS 18 I AM NOW 26, ALL THE BANK LOANS ARE IN MY HUSBANDS NAME .HIS CREDIT SCORE IS NOT GREAT EITHER IT'S A 568. MY QUESTION IS HOW DO I GET MY OWN CREDIT OR AT LEAST REASTABLISH WHAT I HAD?
